Common phrases used while travelling - Part 1

As humans, we would have to travel quite often to new places to explore our curiosity about the place and check out what new it has. While there are a lot of important things and places to see and experience, the language should not be a problem when you visit those places where it is only Tamil or Telugu as a mode of communication.

Welcome to the situational series where you can learn commonly used phrases that one commonly we use while travelling.

English: I am going out for a ride.

Tamil: Naa oru ride ku poitu varen.

Telugu: Nenu okka ride velosthaanu.

English: Where is the petrol bunk nearby?

Tamil: Petrol bunk enga iruku?

Telugu: Petrol bunk ekkada undhi?

English: Let's take rest for a while.

Tamil: Konja neram rest ekkukalaam.

Telugu: Koncha sepu rest theeskuntaamu.

English: The weather is so nice for a car ride.

Tamil: Weather (Vaanilai) romba nalla iruku car ride ku.

Telugu: Weather (Vaathavaram) chaala baagundhi car ride ki.

English: My car tyre got punctured, where is the puncture shop nearby.

Tamil: Ennoda car tyre puncture aayiduchu. Puncture kada pakkaathula enga iruku?

Telugu: Naa care type puncture ayindhi. Puncture shop deggara ekkada undhi?

English: Is there a good restaurant nearby to eat meals?

Tamil: Inga pakkathula nalla restaurant iruka saapudurathuku?

Telugu: Ikkada pakkanna manchi restaurant undha bojanam chesedhaaniki?

English: I wish I could have gone by train.

Tamil: Naa ninaikuren train laye poyirukalaam.

Telugu: Nenu anukuntunaanu train lone velindachu.

English: Where is the railway station.

Tamil: Railway station enga iruku.

Telugu: Railway station ekkada undhi.

English: Where does this road lead to?

Tamil: Inga road la pona enga pogum?

Telugu: Ee road lo velthe ekkadi veluthundhi?

English: Leave the care here.

Tamil: Car aah inga vidunga.

Telugu: Car ikkada unchandi.

English: Parking is prohibited here.

Tamil: Inga parking panna kudathu.

Telugu: Ikkada parking cheyya kudathu.

English: The train is on which platform?

Tamil: Train endha platform la iruku?

Telugu: Train ye platform lo undhi?

English: When will the bus start?

Tamil: Epo indha bus start pannuvaanga?

Telugu: Eppudu ee bus start chesthaaru?

English: Let me know when we shall reach Coorg.

Tamil: Coorg vandha konjam enaku sollen.

Telugu: Coorg vasthe koncham naaku cheppandi.

English: It is so beautiful out here.

Tamil: Inga romba nalla iruku.

Telugu: Ikkada challa andhanga undhi.
