Common phrases at home - Part 1

Normally when we are at home and there are certain phrases that we mostly use as part of our day to day activities. So next time when you talk to you someone in your home or to anyone's house you visit, you can use these phrases in either Tamil or Telugu and the other person will be impressed and you can also boast yourself with knowing the additional language.

Welcome to the second of the situational series introducing you to the most commonly used phrases used at home.

English: You have come to visit after a long time.

Tamil: Romba Naaliku aprama nee veetuku vandhiruke.

Telugu: Chaala rojulu tharavatha nuvvu intiki vachavu.

English: Whats brings you here?

Tamil: Enna vishayama nee inga vandhiruke?

Telugu: Em vishayamu nuvvu ikkada vacharu?

English: What is the problem with you?

Tamil: Enna prachana unnaku?

Telugu: Em kastam neeku?

English: I seek your advice.

Tamil: Enaku un aalosanai venum.

Telugu: Naaku nee aalochana kaavali.

English: What is your opinion on this matter?

Tamil: Indha vishayathula unnoda opinion (karuthu) enna?

Telugu: Ee vishayamulo nee opinion (salaha) enti?

English: I have come for some important matter.

Tamil: Naanu oru mukiyamana vishayathukaaga vandhen.

Telugu: Nenu okka mukiyamaina vishyaanikosam vachenu.

English: She had some work with you.

Tamill:Avaluku unnidam konjam vela irukaam.

Telugu: Aamaki neetho kocham pani undhanta.

English: Come some other time.

Tamil: Innoru neram varangala.

Telugu: Inkoka samayam vasthara.

English: Both of you may come.

Tamil: Neenga rendu perum vanga.

Telugu: Meeru niduru randi.

English: Promise that you shall come.

Tamil: Promise pannu nee varuve nu.

Telugu: Promise cheyyi nuvvu vasthavu ani.

English: I have forgotten your name.

Tamil: Naa unga pera maranthuten.

Telugu: Nenu mee peru marchipoyaanu.

English: You are beyond recognition.

Tamil: Nee pugaluku apaarpatavan.

Telugu: Nuvvu gurthimpuki michinavaadu.

English: I woke up early this morning.

Tamil: Naa inniku kaathaala seekiram elunthuten.

Telugu: Nenu ivvala udhayam binna lesesaanu.

English: I did not think it proper to wake you up.

Tamil: Naa ninaikuren unna eluparadhu sari illai.

Telugu: Nenu anukuntunaanu niini lepindhi sari kaadhu.

English: Are you still awake?

Tamil: Nee innum mulichirukiya?

Telugu: Nuvvu inka melkunaava?
